Home.

Somewhere behind the athlete you’ve become,
the hours of practice and the coaches who’ve pushed you,
is a little boy who fell in love with the game and never looked back.
Play for him and no one else.

Detox

Scott had a rough day today after his crazy round. Tonight our new Mother Mary (one of our incredible hosts) took care of Scott with detoxification!

The water started out clear. Those are the toxins in his body.
Now, he should be mentally clear. We shall see!

Then, Miss Mary decided his feet were too rough and dry. No excuses tomorrow.
Summary of round 1: 11 bunkers.

We had our first event tonight for the tournament.  They put on a really nice dinner for the players and families.  Steak, lobster tails, shrimp, etc.... and banana pudding (Scott's favorite).  It was fantastic!

The highlight of the night was talking with Tim Finchem.  He is a super nice man who offered to help us find a place when we decide to move to TPC Sawgrass.  :) I was pretty impressed with him and how long he stayed to talk with us.

Tomorrow is our ladies day which should be wonderful. I'm really excited!

Scott will be playing the other course here and practicing.  He played in a pro am today and laughed the whole way.  He also played Monday.  The tournament course is closed tomorrow for another pro am.  He tees off Thursday at 8:27.

The week is here! I cannot believe it!  This is the best week of the year!! Think of the Tour Championship/Super Bowl/World Series.... that is where we are this week! If it sounds like we are excited... we are! The perks this week are so fun! :)
We have incredible housing this week with a wonderful couple less than a mile from the course.  If you haven't been to Daniel Island, you should. It's beautiful! We are so excited for a fun week!

So long Sawgrass...

Friday and today are sad days for us. We've already said goodbye to some really good friends and that will continue today. For many this is the last event of the year. We don't know when we'll see them again... Some have to go to first stage of qualifying school next week.
Sad times.

Final round of TPC Sawgrass begins tomorrow.  Scott tees off at 9:52.  We are planning to stay in Ponte Vedra until Monday morning and then head to Daniel Island.  I cannot tell you how excited we are!! Next week should be a blast.
But... the focus is tomorrow.  One shot at a time.

First and last cut of the year: complete!

Scott tees off at 9:30.

Looking forward to a great next two days!

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Sorry about my lack of updates. Scott teed off this morning at 7:40.  I hope that this will be our last early one of the year... I'm hoping next week with a small field the tee times will be later.  We'll see!

ifs...

Ok... here's the break down of  Ifs  for the next two events...

-Top 60 on NWT Money List: guarantees full NWT status next year,
goes to 2nd Stage of Qschool
-Top 40 on NWT Money List: full NWT status  plus goes straight to 3rd Stage of Qschool
-Top 25 on NWT Money List: conditional status on the PGA Tour,
most will still go to Qschool to better their status

TPC Sawgrass, last regular event

So...
Miami is over and Scott is already on the road to Jacksonville (he's probably there and practicing by now).  Miami went well.  A top 15 finish is always not too bad! :)  This week is the last full field event at TPC Sawgrass.  I cannot believe the end it almost here. I can only imagine the stress level this week for some of the guys.  This will be the last event for those who finish below 60 on the money list.

Teeing off at 10!

Girls are having a blast in Gatlinburg. We are all pretty tired. Today, we are going to zipline!

Friday, October 15, 2010

Round 3 tee time is 10:45.
Check out the golf channel coverage!
Yea! Scott!
He's playing awesome this week! I'm so proud of him. Maybe this is sign I need to stay home more? He finished his round at -5, -8 for the tournament and as of now 2 shots back from the lead. There a lot of holes left... lets see what else he can do!! :) He and Josh have been working very, very hard this week both physically and mentally.  It looks like it's been paying off. I'm so proud of both you guys! Keep it up!

Thursday

Round one is under way. Scott as been working his tail off this week in Miami. He's been working on getting his mind right as he's been battling the pressure the last several events. It looks like he's playing more to his potential today but there a lot of holes left. It's strange to have to watch it online. I'm not a huge fan of that!

I'm looking forward to getting back out there on Tuesday. Although, I am having a last a home on a much needed break. I've been having the best time with my friends and can't wait until the all girls bachelorette weekend!!

I'm not a player.. I just crush alot

It's only the 2nd night scott is gone and ive already got a new guy in my bed!

Location:My lovely home

Here's what's going on....

Well, as you can see from the leaderboard Chattanooga did not go as we had hoped.  It happens, it's part of the game.  Golf is hard and it's even harder at the end of the season. It is so easy to put unconscious pressure on yourself when you only have a few weeks left in the season.  It is even easier to do that when you know one good week will get you to the PGA Tour next year.  I cannot imagine what goes on in Scott's head while he's out there.  As of now, Scott has already secured his NWT card for next year.  The next goal is to finish in the Top 40 on the money list because that will put him straight through to the final stage of  PGA Tour Qualifying School.  Otherwise he will have to go to 2nd stage the week before Thanksgiving in Tampa, FL (same course as last year).  The ultimate goal he has for himself is the Top 25 but his next small goal is Top 40..... Can you see how the can cause some pressure?

Scott has two more regular season events in Miami and Jacksonville.  The last event will be the Tour Championship in Charleston, SC.  The Tour Championship has the Top 60 players playing 4 days without a cut. The purse for that event is one million dollars.

I am not going to Miami this week.  A. I wanted to stay home... B. I have some wedding activities to be a part of for a dear friend.  I'm so excited to be home!!! I know I'll miss being out there but man it's nice to see your own things and sleep in your own bed! I'll fly out the following Tuesday for Jacksonville.

Scott will be in Miami grinding it out as usual.  He's been working his tail off all year. I am so proud of him and you all should be.  I don't care what happens the rest of the year... he's done so great that you all should be unbelievably proud.

Black Creek CC

This week we are at my favorite course Black Creek in Chattanooga, TN. It's my favorite because the weather is usually perfect fall like weather (this year I think it may be alittle hot), the course is beautiful, wonderful housing on 18 (this will be our third year staying there) and Scott has had some pretty good success there. I'm excited!

I'm spending my last night in my bed but heading down early tomorrow. His tee times are 1:30 Thursday and 8:30 Friday.

We hope to see some people down there!

It's kinda hard to see but this is what was waiting for us last night. Scott was home maybe 12 hours and is already in Chattanooga. I'll head down tomorrow.

Monday, October 4, 2010

We made it to Atlanta and we are both super fidgety to get home!

I cannot wait to to see our little place!! And our mail since Aug 26! Ha

Sunday, October 3, 2010

Teeing off today at 8:36.

After his round we are headed back to San Diego. We fly out tomorrow at 9:00am. Both of us are looking forward to our few hours at home before heading to Chattanooga early Tuesday.

On Tuesday Scott is playing media golf. He'll play nine holes with someone from the paper and tv. He'll have a microphone on him and do whatever else they need him too. It will be a much more in-depth look than what the media is able to do during the actual tournament.

Scott will not be able to stay home as long as he'd hoped on Tuesday but what can you do?!?

Hoping for a good round today! It will make the forever travel hope much better! :)

Saturday, October 2, 2010

Round 3 tee times should begin approximately at noon tomorrow.

We won't know anything until round 2 is complete.

Thankfully we were blessed with the 'good' round of tee times this week.

Friday, October 1, 2010

We made it by the skin of our teeth! Right as Scott's group was putting out in 18 the officials blew the horn for weather. Phew!

Speaking o Scott's round... Well, i saw the craziest thing on 18. He hit his second shot at the green, hit rocks (in the water), bounced up and out to 15 feet from the hole. He missed his eagle put by millimeters but made a great birdie! Scott finished at -4.

By the way... It smells funny when it rains here.
